Project Summary: replacement of the legacy Client-side Risk Management Information System (RMIS) with a 3rd party package.
Developing, maintaining and supporting in-house systems, especially those supplied to clients, can be a costly and difficult affair, especially when your core business is insurance, not software. Willis Corroon decided to close down its in-house RMIS in favour of a third part, commercially supported system that it could offer to its clients.
At that decision point, Amethyst got involved, producing the system specification and tender invitation for a Risk Management package. The short-list consisted of mature suppliers in the UK and US insurance space, from Seattle to Texas, to the UK midlands. Supplier selection included the comparison of technical architectures and a full functional gap analysis.
We prepared migration, conversion, data clean-up and test plans, systems and training documentation.
