Who are we?
Amethyst Developments Ltd. is an independent consultancy providing a quality information technology consulting service to companies within the UK and Europe.
- Amethyst Developments Ltd. was formed in 1994.
- Amethyst works closely with clients to help them to achieve their business goals, working with the client's personnel in developing appropriate business solutions.
- Amethyst believes that the enabling of client personnel to take forward proposed initiatives is crucial to the achievement of the client's goals.
- Amethyst has had the benefit of working with other professional organisations including; IBM, Ernst & Young, Assiso.
Why should you use us?
Amethyst differs from most consultancies - our approach is to;
- define the problem
- define and implement the solution
- transfer knowledge to client's own staff, (enabling them to complete the processes we initiate)
- move on to the next project
Amethyst does not believe in clients developing a long-term reliance on outside agencies such as ourselves.
Amethyst is not an IT-support operation.
Mistakes (we've Made a Few...)
We've already designed websites with irritating splash pages, pointless animations, and cute little buttons; we've patched up antique systems we should have insisted be replaced. We've stretched a few budget systems to breaking point for large clients. The good news is that we did this several years ago and learned from our mistakes.

- Amethyst has a wide range of sector experience, in particular within the travel, financial services, and utilities and so has a ready appreciation of the major issues of concern to clients.
- Amethyst carefully vets projects so that we only accept work for which we have the skills. Moreover all our projects are implementation focussed - we don't just produce reports with theoretical solutions; we manage and apply our proposals as far as the scale and pace of change within our clients allow.
